American Tungsten & Antimony hits high-grade antimony in maiden Utah drilling

American Tungsten & Antimony Ltd (ASX:AT4, OTCQB:ATALF, FRA:4VZ) has reported a high-grade antimony discovery from its maiden drilling campaign at the Antimony Canyon Project in Utah, with early results confirming the presence of a significant mineralised system.

Initial diamond drilling at the Little Emma prospect returned multiple shallow, high-grade intersections, including 11.03 metres at 3.1% antimony from 25.91 metres, including 2.62 metres at 12.54%, and 8.47 metres at 2.67% antimony from 31.15 metres, including 2.2 metres at 9.69%. These intercepts represent more than 90% of true width and occur within a flat-lying mineralised horizon interpreted to host stibnite-rich hydrothermal breccias.

The results come from the first seven holes drilled at the project, with four returning significant antimony mineralisation. Management said the grades and widths compare favourably with other North American antimony deposits and support the company’s exploration model for the district.

Importantly, the intersections locally exceed the grade and thickness assumptions underpinning the project’s existing exploration target of 6.1–6.9 million tonnes at 1.4–2.3% antimony, providing early validation of the geological model. The exploration target remains conceptual and further work is required before a mineral resource can be defined.

Surface work has also highlighted strong mineralisation at the historic Little Emma pit, where excavator scraping exposed high-grade stibnite. Twelve grab samples returned more than 4% antimony, with values reaching 29.4%, indicating near-surface mineralisation and additional drill targets.

The Little Emma prospect is one of 20 historic mines located within the company’s patented claims, pointing to broader district-scale potential across the Antimony Canyon project area.

“Intersecting mineralisation in four of our first seven holes is an exceptional start at Antimony Canyon, with outstanding grades of up to 66.47% Sb highlighting the strength of the system. These grades compare very favourably with those reported from major North American antimony deposits such as the Stibnite Gold Project being advanced by Perpetua Resources, which hosts one of the largest antimony resources in the United States," American Tungsten & Antimony managing director, Andre Booyzen, said.

With extensive sulphidation and large anomalous zones already identified, the scale of the hydrothermal system we are seeing reinforces our view that Antimony Canyon could emerge as a significant new antimony district. At a time when Western governments are increasingly focused on securing critical mineral supply chains, these early results highlight the strategic potential of the project.”

What's next?

Looking ahead, American Tungsten & Antimony plans to conduct induced polarisation and electromagnetic geophysical surveys to refine drill targets and support a second phase of drilling. Work programs have also been submitted for the nearby Black Jack and Tan Jack prospects as the company advances exploration across the broader project.

The maiden drilling campaign marks the first modern drilling in the Antimony Canyon district and is expected to guide ongoing exploration throughout 2026.
