This year’s WEF focuses on strengthening the resilience of economies and societies in an era defined by growing complexity, fragmentation and accelerating innovation. A central theme of the discussions is the global technological paradigm shift — ranging from artificial intelligence and quantum computing to biotechnology and next-generation energy systems. These transformations are reshaping how people live and work, while also creating new engines of sustainable growth.
Opportunity for high-level dialogue
H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois von und zu Liechtenstein and Head of Government Brigitte Haas used the forum for numerous high-level meetings and exchanges, further strengthening Liechtenstein’s international network and drawing inspiration from the forum’s diverse programme.
At the official opening of the WEF on 20 January 2026, they engaged in informal discussions with Swiss Federal President Guy Parmelin and members of the Swiss Federal Council, King Philippe of Belgium, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, Chairman of the Swiss National Bank Martin Schlegel, Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, among others.
At the invitation of WEF Co-Chairs Larry Fink and André Hoffmann, H.S.H. the Hereditary Prince and the Head of Government also attended the traditional dinner for heads of state, heads of government, and leading business figures on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
