Net deposits up nearly €0.5 billion in April, CBC says

Total deposits in Cyprus recorded a net increase of €492.9 million in April 2025, compared to a net decrease of €66.3 million in March 2025, according to statistics published by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).

The annual rate of change in total deposits reached 7.6 per cent in April, up from 7.1 per cent in March.

As a result, the balance of total deposits stood at €56.1 billion.

The CBC noted that deposits of Cypriot residents rose by €410.5m.

Of this, household deposits increased by €172.2m, while those of non-financial corporations grew by €173.1m.

Deposits held by other domestic sectors increased by €65.2m.

Meanwhile, total loans recorded a net increase of €169.1m in April 2025, lower than the €429.9m rise seen in March.

The annual rate of change in total loans climbed to 4.9 per cent, from 3.1 per cent the previous month. The total loan balance reached €25.6 bl.

Loans to residents of Cyprus rose marginally by €13m.

Loans to households increased by €27.7m, while loans to non-financial corporations declined by €12.8m.

A further decrease of €1.9m was recorded in loans to other domestic sectors.
