Ozango Minerais is pleased to announce it has been named the winner of the “Leading Industrial Project” award at the 2nd Edition of Expo Huambo, held at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem Pavilion, 25-28 September 2025.
With the theme of “Conectando Negócios Para Diversificar a Economia”, the award recognises organisations that drive collaboration across sectors and convert local raw materials into higher-value products within Angola.

Presiding over the official opening on Thursday 25, José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, commented that Angola’s sustainable growth depends on transforming Angola’s raw materials into higher-value products in-country, backed by increased public/private investment, modernised logistics infrastructure such as the Lobito corridor, and vibrant industrial hubs.
Expo Huambo 2025 gathered around 300 exhibitors, including 46 from the province of Huambo, to showcase national production, technological innovation, and public-private partnerships. The fair’s focus on connecting businesses and catalysing domestic transformation of raw materials aligns with Ozango Minerais’ strategy to expand responsible sourcing, boost beneficiation, and scale local manufacturing capacity.

Ozango Minerais is an Angolan private mining company, established in 2012, that focuses on developing the Longonjo Rare Earth Mine in Huambo. The project, owned by Pensana PLC through its majority stake in Ozango, aims to produce high-value mixed rare earth carbonates essential for electric vehicles and wind turbines. The Angolan Sovereign Wealth Fund (FSDEA) is also involved in financing the project.
